How To Make a Vanilla Aromatherapy Candle for Relaxation
Ingredients:
- 8 oz soy wax flakes
- 1 oz lavender essential oil
- 1 oz vanilla essential oil
- Candle wick
- Candle wick holder
- Glass jar
- Double boiler
- Thermometer
Instructions:
- Prepare your work area by laying down newspaper or a protective surface.
- Set up your double boiler on low heat. Add the soy wax flakes to the top of the double boiler and heat until melted, stirring occasionally.
- While the wax is melting, prepare your glass jar by attaching the wick to the bottom using a wick holder. Always use a thick glass container for safety.
- Once the wax has melted, remove it from the heat and add the lavender and vanilla essential oils. Stir well to combine.
- Wait for the mixture to cool slightly before pouring it into the prepared glass jar otherwise the glass will break.
- Center the wick in the middle of the jar and hold it in place until the wax has hardened around it.
- Let the candle cool completely before trimming the wick to 1/4 inch.
