How To Make a Vanilla Aromatherapy Candle for Relaxation

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz soy wax flakes
  • 1 oz lavender essential oil
  • 1 oz vanilla essential oil
  • Candle wick
  • Candle wick holder
  • Glass jar
  • Double boiler
  • Thermometer

Instructions:

  1. Prepare your work area by laying down newspaper or a protective surface.
  2. Set up your double boiler on low heat. Add the soy wax flakes to the top of the double boiler and heat until melted, stirring occasionally.
  3. While the wax is melting, prepare your glass jar by attaching the wick to the bottom using a wick holder. Always use a thick glass container for safety.
  4. Once the wax has melted, remove it from the heat and add the lavender and vanilla essential oils. Stir well to combine.
  5. Wait for the mixture to cool slightly before pouring it into the prepared glass jar otherwise the glass will break.
  6. Center the wick in the middle of the jar and hold it in place until the wax has hardened around it.
  7. Let the candle cool completely before trimming the wick to 1/4 inch.
